1. How TaylorMade Journey to Stealth Series
Before we discuss how TaylorMade arrived at the carbon era, I do like to ask what exactly is significant with these brand-new TaylorMade Stealth drivers.?
Taking back to memory lane TaylorMade ward was how it all started, which was later improved into the Steel drivers era, where the heads saw a significant amount of increment in size and the shot distance increased than the previous model of the driver.
Then TaylorMade progressed into the Titanium Era where we experienced the 460cc head sizes, and enormous golf club sounds, now TaylorMade is releasing a set of golf drivers that have carbon on their faces.
The carbon experimentation of TaylorMade Stealth Drivers doesn’t just read on the driver’s face or were they trying to make it stand out, each driver boost of 60 layers of carbon fiber laid on top of each other, and the idea that it strips weight from the face so that they can distribute it around the back of the golf club.

2. Why do TaylorMade Stealth Drivers Have Asymmetric Inertia Generator?
Just as in the TaylorMade SIM Drivers series, the Stealth drivers also feature Asymmetric Inertia Generator technology. Yeah. You heard me right? This section is at the back of the club which is slightly angled.
TaylorMade golf actually claimed it is important to include this feature so when you start to swing the golf club on the way down, it maximizes the club head speed and also speeds the pocket behind the face.
We’ve seen Aerodynamic in the past, apparently again, a way of generating more ball speed across the face early off of low strikes.
Asymmetric Inertia Generator tech improves the functionalities of Stealth Drivers by adding the following key powers:
- Optimal Launch Conditions,
- High Forgiveness,
- Aerodynamic Head Shape,
- CG Projection,
According to TaylorMadeGolf, “Aerodynamics are crucial for better clubhead speed and distance. It’s a simple equation: the faster you can swing the club, the farther you can hit it…“

TaylorMade Stealth PLUS Driver
The Stealth Plus driver was crafted for mid to low-handicap golfers (superior golfers) who know exactly what they want in their ball flight and are looking for the right TaylorMade drivers to help them achieve that.
The Stealth Plus Driver is the only driver in the series with a sliding weight track that allows the golfer to shift the driver’s weight mass also the TaylorMade Stealth plus driver offers an 8-degree loft angle that is not available with both Stealth driver and Stealth HD driver.
The Stealth PLUS+ driver was designed to propel low SPIN with maximum forgiveness.
TaylorMade Stealth Driver
The standard TaylorMade Stealth Driver which has no adjustable weight is best suitable for mid-handicappers seeking consistent launch, farther distance, and more forgiveness.
The Stealth Driver was designed to propel neutral ball flight, mid-low SPIN, mid-to-high launch, and maximum forgiveness.
TaylorMade Stealth HD Driver
The TaylorMade Stealth HD Driver, HD means High Draw for you. This driver was designed to help you slice out more with a little bit of in-built help and it gives more help to your drive.
Stealth HD was built for high handicappers or beginners, seeking to improve their game with maximum forgiveness. Contrary to Stealth PLUS and standard Stealth driver, the Stealth HD has a draw flight bias feature setup that helps to balance slice sidespin.
This incredible feature causes straighter shots for improved accuracy in beginners’ golfer shots. Additionally, the Stealth HD women’s driver gives more accurate mid-SPIN, High launch, and the highest level of forgiveness.
5. Notable TaylorMade Stealth Driver’s Features Worthy of Review.
Asymmetric Inertia Generator
As earlier discussed, TaylorMade enhanced the aerodynamics of the Stealth drivers by including the A.I.G Asymmetric Inertia Generator features used in TaylorMade SIM max Drivers series.
The inertia generator is crucial to the clubhead speed as it helps you accelerate the speed leading to impact for maximum energy transfer toward the shots you strike. Consequently leading to farther shots distance and faster ball speed.
An adjustable loft sleeve is one feature that makes every high-standard golf driver different from an ordinary one.
Taylormade stealth drivers are not left out in the premium drivers category and are as well equipped with an adjustable loft sleeve.
This feature allows to you adjust the club face degree loft and lie angle to achieve the desired launch.
The adjustable loft sleeve enables you to strengthen or weaken the loft by 2 degrees. Therefore, if you play with a 9-degree driver, you can reduce the loft to 11 degrees for a higher launch or strengthen it to a further increase of 7 degrees.
The three loft angles that came with the TaylorMade Stealth drivers are;
- 9-degree which is the strongest,
- 10.5-degree driver, which is best for mid-handicappers.
- 12 degrees, which is the weakest.
TaylorMade used the Crossline-360 Black and Red grip which provides a textured feel to increase or improve traction and control over your driver. And with stealth drivers, buyers can only have the choice of one stock grip.
When it comes to the custom shafts, TaylorMade Stealth drivers came with four shaft options to fit on your stealth driver. They are as follows;
- Ventus RED 5,
- Aldila Ascent RED,
- Graphite Tour AD 12,
- Mitsubishi Diamana ZF60,
Each of these shafts has its respective functions. For example, Aldila Ascent Red was designed with a regular flex for an average swinger. Whereas, Ventus RED 5 was crafted for slow swingers and is available in a stiff, regular, and senior flex.
The Graphite Design Tour AD 12 and Mitsubishi Diamana ZF60 on the other hand are only created in extra stiff which is ideal for faster swingers that do not require the added spring produced by flexible graphite.
60 LAYERS OF Carbon Twist Face
60X Carbon Twist Face is encased by a polyurethane cover, featuring a revolutionary new nanotexture technology. The weight savings of the 60x Carbon Twist Face has allowed more weight to be positioned low and deep in the head.
Meaning of 60x Carbon Twist Face
60X Carbon Twist face means the total number of carbon layer substances used to cover the Stealth driver’s clubface. The carbon twist face softens impacts and amplifies friction between the clubface and the contact golf ball at an enhanced energy transfer and ball velocity.
6. Is TaylorMade Stealth HD Women’s Driver Different From Stealth HD Men’s Driver?
The most direct answer is YES, the Taylormade stealth HD women’s driver has some unique features compared to men’s stealth HD drivers. There is a glaring difference in colors between TaylorMade Stealth HD women’s driver and the men’s own. While the women’s Stealth HD driver is Metallic Gray, the Men’s Stealth HD driver comes in Black.

TaylorMade Stealth HD women’s driver had been engineered to give you a High-draw with the golf ball. When you draw on the golf ball it means you take the spin off the golf ball.
The TaylorMade stealth HD lady’s model looks absolutely awesome and it gives us a bit of a more flippy-flippy face for the slicer, which requires a bit more of a draw bias.
With a loft of 10.5 degrees and a Shaft made from Graphite even flow RipTide CB 40, the TaylorMade Stealth HD women’s driver was crafted to help female high-handicapped golfers achieve more distances and accuracy in their shots.
7. How To Adjust Your TaylorMade Stealth Driver.
Adjusting the Stealth Drivers is easier done with the TaylorMade torque wrench, you can raise and lower the club’s loft, to give your Stealth driver a draw or fade flight bias.
As shown in the Golfbidder illustrative video below, “…you need to use the wrench to loosen the screw in the center of each weight, then slide the weight to the desired location and lock it in place by tightening the screw until you hear an audible “click” noise from the wrench”.
8. The Differences Between TaylorMade Stealth driver and TaylorMade SIM 2 Drivers.
SIM 2 MAX Driver
Stealth PLUS+ Driver
It is really easy to see that TaylorMade Sim 2 driver is a bit more shallow than the Stealth driver. The new Stealth has a deeper face.
Putting both on the scale, we observed that SIM 2 MAx drivers are 1.1kg, while the stealth driver series weighs a bit lesser between 0.59KG and 0.61K depending on the model.
It’s a known fact that TaylorMade SIM 2 Max Driver is made from Titanium materials, while the TaylorMade Stealth HD Driver, the Stealth Driver, and the Stealth PLUS+ Driver were made from Fujikura Air Speeder 45, Fujikura Ventus Red and Mitsubishi Kaili respectively.
My Final Verdict On TaylorMade Stealth Drivers.
Although from practical reviews, Stealth drivers have a higher peak height and farther ball speed distance than the SIM drivers series, I personally will stick with my old SIM drivers if I have just acquired them in the previous year, I just did not see any significant differences in those clubs.
Of course, that’s a personal choice that you’ve got to make for yourself.
Now, a couple of reasons why I might choose Taylormade Stealth over the SIM 2 series, is because the former has a little bit more forgiveness in high and low mis-hits on the face.
Also, I seem to like the feel and the sound from the stealth as well, therefore is I’m getting brand new drivers for the first time in 2022, I might choose the Stealth drivers over the SIM series, But if money is a concern, I would definitely choose the SIM drivers.
